1. Introduction
This Account Deletion Policy explains how you can request permanent deletion of your PocketWallet account and what data will be deleted or retained. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and must be read together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
By using PocketWallet, you agree to this policy. We respect your right to delete your account and personal data as per the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and other applicable Indian laws.
2. How to Request Account Deletion
- Open the PocketWallet App → Go to Profile → Settings → “Delete Account”
- Read the confirmation screen and confirm your choice
- OR email us at support@pocketwallet.co.in with the subject “Account Deletion Request” along with your registered mobile number and reason (optional)
We will verify your identity before processing any deletion request.
3. What Happens After Deletion Request
Once your request is verified:
- Your account will be immediately deactivated.
- You will no longer be able to log in or use any PocketWallet services.
- All future transactions will be blocked.
4. Data Deletion vs Retention
- Name, email, mobile number, address
- Profile photo and KYC selfies (where possible)
- Device information and app usage logs
- Marketing preferences and consent records
- Transaction history, wallet balance records, and payment details (RBI/NPCI requirement – 5 to 10 years)
- KYC documents and verification records (mandatory retention)
- Audit logs and fraud prevention data
We will delete or anonymize all non-mandatory personal data within the timelines below. Legally required data will be retained but no longer linked to your active account.
5. Timeframe for Deletion
- Account deactivation: Immediate (within minutes)
- Deletion of deletable personal data: Within 30 days of verified request
- Full anonymization of remaining data: Up to 90 days
6. Irreversible Nature of Deletion
Warning: Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. All linked wallet balance (after refunds) and transaction history will be permanently lost. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use PocketWallet again.
7. Impact on Services & Wallet
- Any remaining wallet balance will be refunded to your verified bank account (subject to Refund Policy) before deletion.
- Pending transactions will be cancelled.
- You will lose access to all rewards, offers, and transaction history.
- Linked UPI IDs and bank accounts will be unlinked.
